In addition to the 5 IFK Kristianstad teams, 65 other teams played in Pojkar 2002 B1. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof IFK Kristianstad 1 could be found in Group 1 together with Halmstad Handboll 1, H43 Lund 2, Alingsås HK 2, Åhus Handboll 2, IF Guif Eskilstuna, Trelleborg HBK, Ystads IF HF 3, Uppsala HK 1 and Mönsterås HK.

IFK Kristianstad 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against IFK Kristianstad 4 with 8-10. In the Final, H43 Lund 1 won over H43 Lund 4 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2002 B1.
