In addition to the four IFK Kristianstad teams, 40 other teams played in Pojkar 2006 D1. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof IFK Kristianstad 3 could be found in Group 1 together with H 78 Sölvesborg, Vinslövs HK 1, Eslövs HF 2, Halmstad Handboll 1, LVHK Lödde 1, Uppsala HK, Karlskrona Handboll 1, IK Lågan Hörby 1, GF Kroppskultur Uddevalla and Staffanstorps HK.

IFK Kristianstad 3 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 4:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Ystads IF HF 2 with 5-7. In the Final, H43 Lund 1 won over Åhus Handboll 2 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2006 D1.
