In addition to the two Uppsala teams, 68 other teams played in Pojkar 2002 B1. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Uppsala HK 1 could be found in Group 1 together with Halmstad Handboll 1, H43 Lund 2, Alingsås HK 2, Åhus Handboll 2, IF Guif Eskilstuna, Trelleborg HBK, Ystads IF HF 3, Mönsterås HK and IFK Kristianstad 1.

Uppsala HK 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against H43 Lund 3 with 11-12. In the Final, H43 Lund 1 won over H43 Lund 4 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2002 B1.
