In addition to Norrköpings HK, 65 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 B2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Norrköpings HK could be found in Group 1 together with Skogås HK Sthlm 1, IFK Bankeryd 2, Växjö HF 2, IK Lågan Hörby 1, H43 Lund 3, Halmstad Handboll 1, IK Sävehof Partille, Kävlinge HK 1 and Eslövs HF 1.

Norrköpings HK continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 5:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Borlänge HK with 10-13. In the Final, Halmstad Handboll 2 won over Uppsala HK 3 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 B2.
