In addition to the two Lugi teams, 62 other teams played in Flickor 2006 D2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Lugi HF 1 could be found in Group 7 together with Tyresö Handboll 1, Huddinge HK Sthlm 2, Ronneby HK 3, Rørby-Værslev IF (DK), Kristianstad HK 3, LVHK Lödde 4, Ystads IF HF YIF 1, IFK Bankeryd and Ljunghusens HK 1.

Lugi HF 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 5:th place in Group 7. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Eslövs IK 1 with 7-14. In the Final, Alingsås HK 1 won over Eslövs IK 1 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Flickor 2006 D2.
