In addition to the four Åhus teams, 55 other teams played in Flickor 2005 D2. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Åhus Handboll 2 could be found in Group 3 together with Kävlinge HK 2, GW Landskrona HK 3, Haninge HK Stockholm 1, Trelleborg HBK 1, Tyresö Handboll 1, Huddinge HK Sthlm 2, Näsby Handboll 1 and Alingsås HK 2.

Åhus Handboll 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Huddinge HK Sthlm 4 with 6-7. In the Final, Trelleborg HBK 1 won over Näsby Handboll 1 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Flickor 2005 D2.
