In addition to Alingsås HK, 49 other teams played in Pojkar 2000 A1. They were divided into 5 different groups, whereof Alingsås HK could be found in Group 3 together with Karlskrona Handboll 2, IF Guif Eskilstuna, LUGI HF 1, Eslövs HF 2, Enköpings HF 2, Tyresö Handboll, Åhus Handboll 2, Ystads IF HF 1 and Täby HBK Sthlm.

Alingsås HK continued to C-Slutspel after reaching 8:th place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Åhus Handboll 1 with 6-10. In the Final, Ystads IF HF 2 won over Karlskrona Handboll 3 and became the winner of C-Slutspel in Pojkar 2000 A1.
