In addition to the two Borlänge teams, 48 other teams played in Flickor 2001 A1. They were divided into 5 different groups, whereof Borlänge HK 1 could be found in Group 1 together with Sollentuna HK, Alingsås HK, Lugi HF, IFK Kristianstad 2, Bjärnums HK, Ystads IF HF 2, GW Landskrona HK, IF Guif Eskilstuna 2 and Spånga HK Stockholm 2.

Borlänge HK 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 1:st place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Åhus Handboll with 6-8. In the Final, Uppsala HK 1 won over Gustavsbergs IF HK and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Flickor 2001 A1.

Borlänge HK also participated in Flickor 2001 B2 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016. They reached the 1/4 Final in F01 A-Slutspel, but lost it against Näsby Handboll 1 with 9-10.
