In addition to the two Halmstad teams, 58 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 A1. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Halmstad Handboll 1 could be found in Group 5 together with Rimbo HK Roslagen, Uppsala HK 3, IK Lågan Hörby, Ystads IF HF 3, H43 Lund 1, Karlshamns HF, Ronneby HK, IK Sävehof Partille and IFK Kristianstad 3.

Halmstad Handboll 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Enköpings HF 1 with 7-8. In the Final, Enköpings HF 1 won over Borlänge HK and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 A1.

Halmstad Handboll also participated in Pojkar 2001 B2 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016. They won A-Slutspel, after beating Uppsala HK 3 in the final with 10-7.
