In addition to the two Halmstad teams, 55 other teams played in Pojkar 2001. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Halmstad Handboll 1 could be found in Group 2 together with Lugi HF 2, Ystads IF HF 3, Åhus Handboll 1, H43 Lund HF 3, Enköpings HF, IFK Tumba HK 1, IK Sävehof 1 and Eslövs HF 1.

Halmstad Handboll 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against IFK Kristianstad 1 with 6-7. In the Final, IK Sävehof 1 won over Göteborg Beach Handball Club (Borlänge HK) and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001.

Halmstad Handboll also participated in Pojkar 2001 A1 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2017. They reached the Semi final in P01 A-Slutspel, but lost it against Borlänge HK with 10-11.
