In addition to the two Karlskrona teams, 73 other teams played in Pojkar 2004. They were divided into 8 different groups, whereof Karlskrona Handboll 1 could be found in Group 2 together with IFK Mullsjö, Skuru IK 3, IFK Kristianstad 1, Kungsängens SK 2, IFK Malmö HF, Tomelilla IF 2, IK Sund 2 and Alingsås HK 5.

Karlskrona Handboll 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 4:th place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Halmstad Handboll 4 with 8-12. In the Final, IFK Kristianstad 3 won over H43 Lund HF 4 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2004.
