In addition to the three Ystads teams, 56 other teams played in Pojkar 2002. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Ystads IF HF 1 could be found in Group 2 together with Hammarby IF HF 1, Redbergslids IK, HK Ankaret 2, IFK Kristianstad 1, Kärra HF Steff Academy, H43 Lund HF Blå, Halmstad Handboll 1 and Alingsås HK 1.

Ystads IF HF 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against IFK Kristianstad 3 with 6-9. In the Final, IK Sävehof 2 won over Tyresö Handboll and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2002.

Ystads IF HF also participated in Pojkar 2002 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2018. They reached the 1/4 Final in P02 A-Slutspel, but lost it against IK Sävehof 2 with 6-8.
