In addition to the three Åhus teams, 27 other teams played in Pojkar 2001. They were divided into 3 different groups, whereof Åhus Handboll Röd2 could be found in Group 3 together with HK Aranäs, Halmstad Handboll 3, H43 Lund HF 1 Vit, Vinslövs HK, Tyresö Handboll, Uppsala HK 2, IK Bolton 2, OV Helsingborg HK and Mönsterås HK 1.

Åhus Handboll Röd2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 1:st place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against IFK Kristianstad 2 with 7-8. In the Final, IFK Kristianstad 2 won over IK Sävehof Allstars and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001.

Åhus Handboll also participated in Pojkar 2001 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2018. They reached the Semi final in P01 A-Slutspel, but lost it against IK Sävehof 1 with 7-11.
