Sommarbyns HK was one of 226 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2023. They participated with one team in Öppen klass Herrar.

In addition to Sommarbyns HK, 54 other teams played in Öppen klass Herrar. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Sommarbyns HK could be found in Group 1 together with SALOS DRÄPARE, Det är något med vattnet, Sandboll HC, Guldkustens HK, Genföreningen Junior H43, MÅSTE VILA and GB Glace.

Sommarbyns HK continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 4:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against U-Laget with 10-11. In the Final, Kärlekens boys won over SALOS DRÄPARE and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Öppen klass Herrar.

Sommarbyns comes from Malmö which lies approximately 90 km from Åhus, where Åhus Beachhandboll Festival takes place. The area around Malmö does also provide 56 additional clubs participating during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2023 (Among others: Sopis, Staffanstorps HK, Guldkustens HK, HK Micro, Mammas pojkar, Powerheat Radio, Eslövs IK, Veberöds HK, Eddes Hussar and IFK Malmö HF).
