In addition to the two Halmstad teams, 56 other teams played in Flickor 2001 B2. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Halmstad Handboll 2 could be found in Group 6 together with Alingsås HK, Sollentuna HK, HK Ankaret Bjärred, H 65 Höör 2, Bålsta IF, Ystads IF HF 1, H43 Lund 1, IFK Klagshamn 2 and Ronneby HK 2.

Halmstad Handboll 2 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 7:th place in Group 6. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Eslövs IK with 5-8. In the Final, Eslövs IK won over IFK Klagshamn 2 and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Flickor 2001 B2.
