In addition to the two IFK Bankeryd teams, 64 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 B2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof IFK Bankeryd 2 could be found in Group 1 together with Skogås HK Sthlm 1, Växjö HF 2, IK Lågan Hörby 1, H43 Lund 3, Halmstad Handboll 1, IK Sävehof Partille, Norrköpings HK, Kävlinge HK 1 and Eslövs HF 1.

IFK Bankeryd 2 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 7:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against IF Guif Eskilstuna 1 with 8-12. In the Final, Ystads IF HF 2 won over Eksjö BK and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 B2.
