In addition to Eslövs IK, 19 other teams played in Damer Junior 96-98. They were divided into 2 different groups, whereof Eslövs IK could be found in Group 2 together with Trelleborg HBK, Kristianstad HK 1, Borlänge HK, H 65 Höör 2, Halmstad Handboll 1, Gustavsbergs IF HK, IK Lågan Hörby, H43 Lund 2 and Åhus Handboll.

Eslövs IK continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 5:th place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against IFK Tumba Sthlm with 9-10. In the Final, H 65 Höör 1 won over H43 Lund 1 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Damer Junior 96-98.
