In addition to the two Föreningen Karlskrona teams, 55 other teams played in Pojkar 2001. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Föreningen Karlskrona Handboll 1 could be found in Group 1 together with Hässleholms HF, IK Sävehof 3, H43 Lund HF migogang, IK Bolton 2, Rimbo HK Roslagen, IFK Kristianstad 3, Kävlinge HK, Åhus Handboll 4 and Göteborg Beach Handball Club (Borlänge HK).

Föreningen Karlskrona Handboll 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 5:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against H43 Lund HF migogang with 9-13. In the Final, IK Sävehof 1 won over Göteborg Beach Handball Club (Borlänge HK) and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001.
