In addition to the three Sävehof teams, 54 other teams played in Pojkar 2001. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof IK Sävehof 3 could be found in Group 1 together with Hässleholms HF, H43 Lund HF migogang, IK Bolton 2, Rimbo HK Roslagen, IFK Kristianstad 3, Kävlinge HK, Åhus Handboll 4, Föreningen Karlskrona Handboll 1 and Göteborg Beach Handball Club (Borlänge HK).

IK Sävehof 3 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 6:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Växjö HF with 9-10. In the Final, Växjö HF won over OV Helsingborg HK and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001.
