In addition to the three Sävehof teams, 54 other teams played in Pojkar 2001. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof IK Sävehof 2 could be found in Group 4 together with Ystads IF HF 2, Halmstad Handboll 2, IK Bolton 4, Eslövs HF 2, Föreningen Karlskrona Handboll 2, Uppsala HK 2, H43 Lund HF Big Ballers and Åhus Handboll 3.

IK Sävehof 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 4. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Tyresö Handboll with 7-8. In the Final, IK Sävehof 1 won over Göteborg Beach Handball Club (Borlänge HK) and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001.
