In addition to the three Åhus teams, 56 other teams played in Pojkar 2002. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Åhus Handboll 1 could be found in Group 6 together with HK Aranäs 2, Staffanstorps HK Röd, Önnereds HK, Raklev G&I HF Kalundborg 1, IFK Malmö HF 2, Alingsås HK 2, H43 Lund HF, IFK Tumba HK and Växjö HF.

Åhus Handboll 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 6. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Lugi HF with 11-12. In the Final, IK Sävehof 2 won over Tyresö Handboll and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2002.

Åhus Handboll also participated in Pojkar 2002 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2018. They reached the 1/4 Final in P02 A-Slutspel, but lost it against H43 Lund HF 1 with 5-8.
