In addition to the three Åhus teams, 27 other teams played in Pojkar 2001. They were divided into 3 different groups, whereof Åhus Handboll Blå2 could be found in Group 1 together with Halmstad Handboll 1, Mönsterås HK 2, H43 Lund HF Blå, Uppsala HK 1, Borlänge HK, IK Sävehof Allstars, IK Bolton 1, IFK Kristianstad 1 and HK Ankaret.

Åhus Handboll Blå2 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 6:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against HK Aranäs with 7-8. In the Final, H43 Lund HF 1 Vit won over HK Aranäs and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001.

Åhus Handboll also participated in Pojkar 2001 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2018. They reached the Semi final in P01 A-Slutspel, but lost it against IK Sävehof 1 with 7-11.
