In addition to the three Karlskrona teams, 63 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 B2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Karlskrona Handboll 1 could be found in Group 2 together with Rimbo HK Roslagen, Halmstad Handboll 2, Eslövs HF 2, IFK Kristianstad 2, Alingsås HK 2, Växjö HF 1, HK Silwing/Troja Sthlm and Åhus Handboll 1.

Karlskrona Handboll 1 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 7:th place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Ystads IF HF 2 with 8-9. In the Final, Ystads IF HF 2 won over Eksjö BK and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 B2.
