In addition to the four IFK Kristianstad teams, 62 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 B2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof IFK Kristianstad 2 could be found in Group 2 together with Karlskrona Handboll 1, Rimbo HK Roslagen, Halmstad Handboll 2, Eslövs HF 2, Alingsås HK 2, Växjö HF 1, HK Silwing/Troja Sthlm and Åhus Handboll 1.

IFK Kristianstad 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 5:th place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against LVHK Lödde with 8-9. In the Final, Halmstad Handboll 2 won over Uppsala HK 3 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 B2.
