In addition to the two Halmstad teams, 48 other teams played in Pojkar 2000 A1. They were divided into 5 different groups, whereof Halmstad Handboll 2 could be found in Group 5 together with IFK Tumba Sthlm 2, Vinslövs HK, Kävlinge HK, Norrköpings HK 1, LVHK Lödde, Skogås HK Sthlm 2, KFUM Kalmar HK 2, H43 Lund 1 and Karlskrona Handboll 3.

Halmstad Handboll 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against LUGI HF 1 with 8-10. In the Final, LUGI HF 1 won over H43 Lund 1 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2000 A1.
