In addition to the two IFK Bankeryd teams, 57 other teams played in Pojkar 2006 D2. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof IFK Bankeryd 1 could be found in Group 5 together with Alingsås HK 2, Lugi HF, LVHK Lödde 3, Uppsala HK 2, Karlskrona Handboll 3, Ljunghusens HK 3, Trelleborg HBK, IFK Kristianstad 4 and HK Hök Laholm 2.

IFK Bankeryd 1 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 7:th place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against IFK Kristianstad 1 with 5-6. In the Final, H 78 Sölvesborg 2 won over IFK Kristianstad 1 and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2006 D2.
