In addition to the three Åhus teams, 57 other teams played in Pojkar 2002. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Åhus Handboll 2 could be found in Group 4 together with Eskilstuna Guif IF, Norrköpings HK, Föreningen Karlskrona Handboll, HK Aranäs, Tollarps IF, IFK Kristianstad 3, IK Bolton 2, H43 Lund HF 1 and Ystads IF HF 3.

Åhus Handboll 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 4. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Ystads IF HF 4 with 7-8. In the Final, H43 Lund HF migogang won over IK Sävehof 2 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2002.

Åhus Handboll also participated in Pojkar 2002 B2 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2017. They reached the 1/8 Final in P02 A-Slutspel, but lost it against IFK Kristianstad 6 with 12-13.
