In addition to the four Åhus teams, 53 other teams played in Pojkar 2001. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Åhus Handboll 2 could be found in Group 5 together with Hammarby IF HF, H43 Lund HF 1, Ystads IF HF 1, Önnereds HK 2, Falu HK, Vinslövs HK, IFK Bankeryd and IFK Tumba HK 2.

Åhus Handboll 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against IK Sävehof 2 with 5-11. In the Final, IK Sävehof 1 won over Göteborg Beach Handball Club (Borlänge HK) and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001.

Åhus Handboll also participated in Pojkar 2001 A1 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2017. They reached the 1/8 Final in P01 A-Slutspel, but lost it against Borlänge HK with 7-10.
