In addition to the two Uppsala teams, 48 other teams played in Pojkar 2000 A1. They were divided into 5 different groups, whereof Uppsala HK 1 could be found in Group 2 together with IFK Tumba Sthlm 1, Karlskrona Handboll 1, H43 Lund 2, Svedala HK, KFUM Kalmar HK 1, IFK Kristianstad 1, Eslövs HF 1, Halmstad Handboll 1 and Enköpings HF 1.

Uppsala HK 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Skånela IF Märsta with 8-11. In the Final, LUGI HF 1 won over H43 Lund 1 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2000 A1.
