In addition to the four IFK Kristianstad teams, 40 other teams played in Pojkar 2006 D1. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof IFK Kristianstad 1 could be found in Group 3 together with Eslövs HF 1, Ystads IF HF 2, HK Hök Laholm, Växjö HF, LVHK Lödde 2, Alingsås HK 1, Trelleborg HBK 1, Åhus Handboll 2, IFK Tumba Sthlm and H43 Lund 2.

IFK Kristianstad 1 continued to B-Slutspel after reaching 6:th place in Group 3. In the playoff they made it to Semi final, but lost it against LVHK Lödde 2 with 11-12. In the Final, Alingsås HK 2 won over LVHK Lödde 2 and became the winner of B-Slutspel in Pojkar 2006 D1.
