In addition to the two IFK Kristianstad teams, 38 other teams played in Herrar Junior 97-99. They were divided into 4 different groups, whereof IFK Kristianstad 1 could be found in Group 4 together with Halmstad Handboll 2, Vinslövs HK, Kävlinge HK 2, Huddinge HK Sthlm, H43 Lund 1, IFK Tumba Sthlm 3, IK Baltichov Gbg, IK Lågan Hörby and Åhus Handboll 1.

IFK Kristianstad 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 4. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Uppsala HK 2 with 11-14. In the Final, HK Ankaret Bjärred won over Ystads IF HF and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Herrar Junior 97-99.

IFK Kristianstad also participated in Herrar Junior 96-98 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016. They won A-Slutspel, after beating Halmstad Handboll in the final with 12-9.
