In addition to the 5 IFK Kristianstad teams, 55 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 A1. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof IFK Kristianstad 1 could be found in Group 6 together with Växjö HF 2, Uppsala HK 1, H43 Lund 4, Ystads IF HF 2, Skogås HK Sthlm, Åhus Handboll 2, Tollarps IF, IF Guif Eskilstuna 2 and Önnereds HK Gbg Lag 2.
IFK Kristianstad 1 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 2:nd place in Group 6. In the playoff they made it to 1/16 Final, but lost it against Ystads IF HF 1 with 13-14. In the Final, Enköpings HF 1 won over Borlänge HK and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 A1. IFK Kristianstad also participated in Pojkar 2001 B2 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016.
