In addition to the three Alingsås teams, 61 other teams played in Flickor 2006 D2. They were divided into 7 different groups, whereof Alingsås HK 3 could be found in Group 5 together with Hammarby IF Sthlm 1, Vinslövs HK 2, Tollarps IF 1, Ljunghusens HK 2, Karlskrona Handboll 2, LVHK Lödde 3, Åhus Handboll 1 and Trelleborg HBK Trelleborgs HBK.
Alingsås HK 3 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 1:st place in Group 5. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Önnereds HK Gbg with 6-9. In the Final, Alingsås HK 1 won over Eslövs IK 1 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Flickor 2006 D2. Alingsås HK also participated in Flickor 2006 D1 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016.
