In addition to the three Åhus teams, 44 other teams played in Flickor 2000 A2. They were divided into 5 different groups, whereof Åhus Handboll 2 could be found in Group 3 together with Spånga HK Stockholm 2, H43 Lund 2, Uppsala HK 1, Enköpings HF, IK Sävehof Partille, IK Lågan Hörby, Halmstad Handboll 2, Trelleborg HBK 1 and Tyresö Handboll 2.

Åhus Handboll 2 made it to B-Slutspel after reaching 4:th place in Group 3. Once in the playoff they won every match inluding the Final against IFK Tumba Sthlm IFK Tumba, which they won with 11-6. Thereby Åhus Handboll 2 won the entire B-Slutspel in Flickor 2000 A2 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2017.
