In addition to the four Åhus teams, 56 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 A1. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Åhus Handboll 2 could be found in Group 6 together with Växjö HF 2, Uppsala HK 1, H43 Lund 4, IFK Kristianstad 1, Ystads IF HF 2, Skogås HK Sthlm, Tollarps IF, IF Guif Eskilstuna 2 and Önnereds HK Gbg Lag 2.

Åhus Handboll 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 6. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against IFK Tumba Sthlm 1 with 8-10. In the Final, Enköpings HF 1 won over Borlänge HK and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 A1.

Åhus Handboll also participated in Pojkar 2001 B2 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016. They reached the 1/8 Final in P01 A-Slutspel, but lost it against Borlänge HK with 5-15.
