In addition to the two IFK Kristianstad teams, 48 other teams played in Pojkar 2000 A1. They were divided into 5 different groups, whereof IFK Kristianstad 2 could be found in Group 1 together with IK Cyrus JKöping, Åhus Handboll 1, Borlänge HK, Uppsala HK 2, Rimbo HK Roslagen, Skånela IF Märsta, Ystads IF HF 2, Bromölla AIK and OV Helsingborg HK.

IFK Kristianstad 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against H43 Lund 1 with 7-8. In the Final, LUGI HF 1 won over H43 Lund 1 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2000 A1.
