In addition to the two Åhus teams, 57 other teams played in Pojkar 2006 D2. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Åhus Handboll 2 could be found in Group 1 together with Göinge HK, IFK Bankeryd 2, Uppsala HK 1, H 78 Sölvesborg 1, HK Aranäs Kungsbacka 1, Önnereds HK Gbg Grön, Ystads IF HF 2, Kävlinge HK and Staffanstorps HK Östrand.

Åhus Handboll 2 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 4:th place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Ystads IF HF 1 with 7-8. In the Final, H43 Lund 1 won over Ystads IF HF 2 and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2006 D2.

Åhus Handboll also participated in Pojkar 2006 D1 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016. They reached the final in A-Slutspel, but lost it against H43 Lund 1 with 7-10 and ended up in second place.
