In addition to the three Åhus teams, 44 other teams played in Flickor 2000 A2. They were divided into 5 different groups, whereof Åhus Handboll 3 could be found in Group 2 together with HK Silwing/Troja Sthlm 1, Trelleborg HBK 2, Djurgårdshofs IK, Lugi HF 2, IFK Kristianstad 1, Särökometernas HK, Vinslövs HK 2, Sorunda IF Sthlm and H43 Lund 1.

Åhus Handboll 3 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/4 Final, but lost it against Trelleborg HBK 1 with 11-14. In the Final, Trelleborg HBK 1 won over Eslövs IK and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Flickor 2000 A2.
