In addition to the four Åhus teams, 56 other teams played in Pojkar 2001 A1. They were divided into 6 different groups, whereof Åhus Handboll 4 could be found in Group 1 together with Bollstanäs SK Sthlm, IF Guif Eskilstuna 1, H43 Lund 6, Alingsås HK, Norrköpings HK, Karlskrona Handboll 1, Eslövs HF 2, Borlänge HK and LVHK Lödde.

Åhus Handboll 4 continued to A-Slutspel after reaching 3:rd place in Group 1. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Halmstad Handboll 2 with 5-9. In the Final, Enköpings HF 1 won over Borlänge HK and became the winner of A-Slutspel in Pojkar 2001 A1.

Åhus Handboll also participated in Pojkar 2001 B2 during Åhus Beachhandboll Festival 2016. They reached the 1/8 Final in P01 A-Slutspel, but lost it against Borlänge HK with 5-15.
